Kefalonia is the largest of the Ionian Islands full of olive groves orange trees and hillsides studded with grapevines. Kefalonia has breathtaking golden beaches deep coves and rugged rocky shores. Lixouri is Kefalonia ’s second largest town, it has a lovely 19th century mansion - museum and vestiges of the ancient city of Pali. The old city of Argostoli, which was destroyed by an earthquake in 1953 contains interesting museums of archaeology and folk art.
