Saronikos Gulf
The Central part of the Aegean contains the Saronikos Gulf, with its capital harbour of Pireaus, and the Argolikos Gulf, where the first capital of contemporary Greece, Nafplio is located. On the northern edge of Saronikos lies the seaside city of Athens, host to the most important cluster of marinas in Greece. The Argosaronikos Gulf, contains such well-known islands as Hydra, Spetses, Aeghina and Salamis.
